Why am I building this site?

My name is Barbara and I am, amongst other things, researching dog food. I have enjoyed the company of animals my whole life and currently I live with a cat and a dog. The phrase "Fighting like cats and dogs", is one that doesn't live in our house.

I have a background in biochemistry (BSc), health sciences (MSc) and graduated in the field of (tumor)immunology and toxicology. I'm also experienced in business intelligence (IT, financial analysis and marketing) and completed a business administration study.

One of my passions is to learn and discover more about the relation between food and health; in man and of course in dogs!

I have completed a certified course in dog and cat nutrition, but I'm not a veterinarian and I'm by no means trying to replace the advice of a professional.

I'm building this website for informational purposes only. When you think there is something wrong with your pooch, then please have an appointment scheduled at the vet's. He or she can examine your dog in real life. This website is only to educate you about canine nutrition and related health issues.

Before I became a dog owner I never would have guessed that this subject is surrounded with so many question marks. Whenever I'm around dog owners the conversations often are about… well, guess what… dog food!
