Purina's Beneful is an adulterated product

The pet food companies have the responsibility to provide safe products. AAFCO dances around the problem by making fancy definitions for contaminated products. The products of animal carcass rendering which are given nice names like "Animal Meat and Bone Meal", "Animal Fat","Animal Digest" all contain endotoxins. APHIS has written that these toxins can cause disease and the pet food manufactures do not test for endotoxins. AAFCO supports the use of these products but they violate FDAs own regulations. All products that contain endotoxins should carry a warning label until FDA sets an acceptable tolerance and the companies test their products to show compliance.
