What makes Back to Basics dog food different?

by Megan Severs

As someone who blogs about the latest in dog food, we know that you’re more than just a pet parent – you’re a pet advocate. We’ve made some exciting changes to Back to Basics, and rather than hear about them from someone else, we want you to hear it from us.

At Back to Basics, we wanted to do what our name implies — to go back to basics and create a food as close to what nature would offer yet still provide all the benefits of a complete and balanced meal.

So what makes us different?
· Back to Basics is the next evolution in grain-free nutrition. We’ve started with real organ meat like hearts and livers which are what dogs would instinctively choose to eat in the wild — not only because they’re the most nutrient dense, but also because they’re the most palatable.

· At Back to Basics we believe a truly instinctual diet means less is more. So unlike other pet food manufacturers that dress up their ingredient panels, we use high-quality ingredients in meaningful amounts that are functional for your pet — every one of them thoughtfully chosen to make a difference in the health and well-being of every dog.

· Pet nutrition is our sole focus. In fact, making pet food is our one and only business. Ainsworth Specialty Brands (a division of Ainsworth Pet Nutrition) is a family-owned and operated company that has been making quality pet foods for five generations.

· Our commitment to safety is unsurpassed. Instead of outsourcing, we will continue to manufacture everything ourselves. All of our foods are made in the USA in our own manufacturing facilities. It’s this hands-on approach and singular focus that allows us to be confident that we’re delivering pet nutrition as it was meant to be.
